Oh Vanagon Diagnostic Gurus: I've noticed for the last few months that when my steering wheel is turned to its full travel - either direction - I can feel what's best described as a throbbing or a surging (at a rate of about 2HZ, for you engineers out there.) There is no particular noise accompanying this phenomenon, just a vibration that I can feel through the steering wheel as if it is pushing back at me. Is something in my power steering system about to die on me? I typically notice this when I'm backing into or pulling out of a tight parking space, when the wheel is turned all the way over. (I never notice it while I'm driving at speed, since I don't do donuts in my Syncro ;-) Any guesses at a diagnosis would be greatly appreciated! -Steve '89 Syncro GL |
