Given that it runs for ten minutes and fades --- and then will do the same thing when cooled ---- you've probably got an intermittent short. (A wire somewhere is expanding with heat and making contact where it shouldn't). So where's the short?? The two most likely possibilities are the switch and the fan itself. I'd look at the switch first because it is a huge pain to get at the fan. Replace it or jump it and see if the problem recurs --- hopefully it will go away. If that doesn't work check and clean the grounds (always a possibility). You have to remove and replace the entire dash to get at the fan motor (assuming the Doublecab is the same as a vanagon --- I think it is) and this is an 8 hour job for a pro. This is why I do without my front fan ---- though my Westy has a rear heater and fan that works very well. Good Luck,
