I just put a head unit from a 2000 Jetta into our Syncro last night. Fits like a glove, and all you have to do is add one more constant power, and even the plugs snap right in. You need a small (<$10) adaptor for the antenna. I'm getting the cord for an aftermarket CD changer, and am going to run a Panasonic 8 disc changer as well. The van already had 5-1/2" Sony speakers in the door. I jsut have to get the radio code from the guy who gave me the radio (he gave me his key code instead of radio code - D'OH!) and away we go. Cost of head unit: free (horse trading for some stuff of mine). Cost of antenna adaptor: free. Cost of extra wire: free. Cost of CD changer and the adaptor for it - about $350 CDN.
