I'd agree that Maaco probably isn't cranking out Concours-quality at even
their best franchises.
But for a lot of us, that caliber of painting isn't critical, especially on
an older Vanagon. We're merely correcting fading, covering some body rust or
accident damage, maybe exacting a color change.
While not a lot of what I've done to my van was performed with the
"how-would-this-affect-resale-Vs-cost-outlay", I'd have to really think
twice (maybe four) times on spending several thousand dollars for paint on a
vehicle that I would be fortunate to sell for $5K.
I guess to lay out those kinda bucks, nice paint would have to be really
important to you.
