Well, a VW with Subaru engine, Porsche trans & brakes, ?Mercedes wheels and Toyota mirrors needs a steering column from something else, n'est pas? Maybe I should adapt a Toyota Hiace power steering rack too?

Factory automatic lights. You know, as in... automatic lights. 4 settings on switch wand: off, park, head, auto. Set so, they come on by themselves in 2 stages (parking & head) as light level drops, and go out in the opposite order. Goes off when you turn the key off (or inthe 1984-1988 Skyline's case, when key turned off and driver's door opened). Runs through a dashtop sensor. I've seen this setup in an early Honda Legend and a 1989 ST 170 Corona. Standard on the R21 Skyline; dunno about the Honda; seen only one Corona with this, but it was a rare option. Current Holden Commodore (Opel-based Australian GM) has it as an option too.Works a treat... never flatten your battery again...
