I think its worth the extra few minutes to flush out the old coolant. I
installed a $6 coolant flush elbow (from FLAPS) in one of the hoses under
the chassis. It allows me to hook a garden hose to it. Now, I drain out all
the coolant I can. Then turn on the garden hose and flush out all the
remaining residual coolant. I let it run about 10 minutes. Then drain out
all the water I can and refill with coolant. I use the Sierra coolant since
it has no phosphates and isn't harmful to animals (like my dog). Good luck.

I need to change my antifreeze and was wondering how critical it is to get
all the old stuff out of the engine block.  My mechanic said he would just
drain the system from the two lowest points and that it wasn't really
necessary to get every last drop out unless I wanted to pay alot more.  What
do you think?
