Subject: Fixed hesitation problem (ECU)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

After the engine warmed up, my '84 automatic wasserboxer had a really bad "Hesitation" problem when trying to accelerate from a stop. Sometimes I wasn't too sure I would clear the intersection before an approaching vehicle (5 blocks away) would become a problem. Once it "Caught", though, it seemed to work fairly well at speed. It was just those minor depressions of the accelerator that were a problem.

I replaced the ECU using another vintage '84 unit (obviously a better one, though) and the problem is GONE. Very responsive now.

How 'bout that.

Mike '84 GL
