Didn't we have a discussion a few years back about some using the tannin in tea to coat the cooling system. I think this idea was coming out of Australia. Has anyone tried this method of producing a film in the cooling system? Tannin does make a fairly durable coating. I would guess that this is not the only chemical that could be run through the cooling system to produce a film that would slow electrolysis. Bill ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frank Grunthaner" <FrankGRUN@AOL.COM> . The summary, Copper in a cooling circuit with Aluminum and steel will corrode. The rate could be negligible (higher probability of personal meteor strike than damaging corrosion of Cu component in 5 years or less). Alternative is thick film hydrophobic film as I mentioned in an earlier post. |
