Since I'm working toward blacking out the trimmings on my 1983.5 Westy, can
the chrome bumper be painted black? Is there a way to strip the chrome?

The bumper is pitted a bit and the black accents look great on the yellowish
(I think the factory called it ivory) paint of the 83.

(The black accents are the stock black door handles and rear vents for the
engine. The black power and water inlets for the camping stuff. The black
rain gutters. the black side view mirrors. The all black South African grill
(no silver rim like the stock grill). Eventually I'll black out the window
trim with later model rubber.) Chrome is so 50s.
