Don't do it.  You won't get them much brighter and you will make them
smoke.  Modern high-brightness LEDs will give much more light for the same
working current.

If you want to know the necessary arithmetic to do this stuff properly let
me know -- but you should be ok just swapping in newer ones into the same
circuit.
