Ramon,

The fuel injection on that version jetta (91) worked very well and are almost trouble free. They also are less restrictive on needed space. They have a knock sensor built in. If it were me I would stay with the engine's current management system. Carbs are simplier but In my experience, more trouble. I have not done a conversion to my vanagon but have messed with the digijet that's on the 1.9 models and am very comfortable with it. When I was younger, cars had carburators and they were a pain. I wish you luck on your conversion. My "dream vanagon" would have a TDI engine and auto trans. (for the wife)

I need a few parts to do a I4 convertion in a weekender 87

I was looking for a used oil pan, oil pump and maniful (exhaust) of 1.6 diesel vanagon; now I have the housing bell of diesel, for the trannsmission, and 1.8 engine pulled of jetta 91. injection and ECU bye bye!. My plan is change it for a carburator system.

Im new in convertions, any word of help or parts for saleaAre welcome
