Well, I always look at the ground cables too. Once it was the problem and after I made a nice clean and flat ground for the cleaned up cable connection, it was working. You know this is just one of the few thing one looks at. Can you start the engine with the shortening of the cables at the starter? If it starts there, then it is further in the front where you would look for trouble. But if it does not, it is either the ground or the starter is still not good. You can check the voltage at the starter too. Not that it makes a lot of difference if the ground cables are not passing the juice on. It would still give you high voltage, unless you check it under load while someone turns the ignition for you. Not a real safe procedure... Logic says; it has to have not only enough voltage but enough juice too to turn the whole engineering there inside. So you have to check for it. And if its not there find where it is shut off of have a bottleneck. I know easy to talk.
