Funny, that's what I was considering doing when I bought an 850 Sport
coupe with dud engine back in the early 80s. Despite the thin outer
panels and serious rust, a solid car. I could lift both right wheels
off the ground by lifting the open driver's door; no flex in door,
rustholed pillar or body. Bought a wreck for its hotted-up engine and
trans (they blow crownwheels); it had hit a bridge at some speed, and
was rebuildable apart from rust damage.

My Fiat 128 sedan was the flimsiest car I've ever seen (apart perhaps
from a Citroen BX); I could open the driver's door and lift on it,
causing the entire front end of the car to flex visibly and
badly...no, it wan't rusty.
