hello. i am brand new to this list and just bought an 86 vanagon westfalia. i picked it up about two weeks ago in burlington, vt and drove it home (portsmouth, nh)... while i was driving, it seemed to be skipping a beat every now and then. since then it has been getting progressively worse. it basically bucks , loses power and stalls. i changed the fuel filter and when i did the fuel that came out of it was literally orange and thick... i also noticed that the fuel filter is in line after the fuel pump-- is that normal? and could this issue be caused by a rusty gas tank and a clogged fuel pump?? |
