I have a heater under the rear seat in my '86 syncro doublecab. Doesn't look very stock. Not anything like the heaters in my Carat and Westy. I'll try to take a couple of pics and put them on my web page.

I have always planned to cut the heater hoses and add a hot water tank instead.

Really glad to hear about your planned restoration!
