Rob: On my two diesel vanagons the original hose is not a special short hose that gets connected to the long heater hose - The original hose is an 11 foot long heater hose with one end larger than the other. You can get this hose from the Bus Depot, as I did.

I don't have my Bentley with me, but I'm not sure why they would show this. I think TBD drawing is straight out of ETKA. I would guess the previous owner replaced the heater hose by cutting the original enlarged end off and re-using it with standard heater hose by using a barbed coupler. Take this short big/small hose to your FLAPS, they may have a hose similar. Otherwise, spring for the original part.

BTW, keep posting your diesel vanagon stuff here, but you should know there are other VW diesel resources at Audi-VW-Diesel@yahoogroups.com and diesel@audifans.com. I don't recall how to subscribe to these -- maybe somebody else here remembers?
