Subject: Re: Brake Light Switch?
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed

A public thank you to Stan Wilder, Joel Walker, Leon Korkin, Dave K., and Sean B. for their suggestions on my problem of brake lights only working when I pressed very hard on the brake pedal.

Possible suggestions for causes of the problem included low brake fluid, old brake fluid causing corrosion on switches, improper grounding, and poor continuity in the wiring.

Brake fulid level is fine and has been changed regularly. I will check the grounding and wiring continuity. If that proves to be OK, I will replace the switches based on the procedure given--remove 4 screws in instrument cluster, put rag under switches, and quickly replace.

Thanks again for all of your ideas--when I find the problem, I will post again so that a solution will be in the archives.
