angry guy says: << http://www.alphaautosales.net/vanagon90/index.htm the center picture in the fourth row down http://www.alphaautosales.net/vanagon90/wph5.jpg and then tell me again it's not a Westy. You are so right, it is not a Westy, but clearly a Westfalia. >> unca joel says: << i hate to tell ya, but it still isn't a Westfalia ... Westfalia puts their placards on with rivets, not phillip-head screws. someone has added the placard from some junkyard camper. and the Wolfsburg badge is likely also been added. the only thing that seems real about the bus is that it does have the pop-top that Country Homes campers used to sell. other than that, i'd say it's a put-up job by some previous owner. and yes, i've been around vw buses since the middle sixties, so i do believe i know what i'm talking about. >> guy who wants to get everybody even angrier says: unca joel, Wolfsburg Edition Weekender models are built by Westfalia IIRC. I have owned a couple of them. They have Westfalia equipment namely the sidepanels, folding table and the rear bench. In most cases, the poptop. The ones I've owned had the Westfalia nameplate on the rightside wheel arch. The rear bench also has a Westfalia plate. I cannot remember if the non-poptop models like the Multivan had the nameplates. It appears that this is a Multivan which has been converted by Country Homes. I personally don't think this is what most people consider a Westy. For most of us on the list it is better defined as a Country Homes conversion. BenT |
