Greetings list. Vanagon work is progressing well, so well, in fact, that the following is one of my few remaining problems (as far as the car, I mean) I am getting a slight hesitation while cruising. It is slight, but annoying. As a matter of fact, at first, I needed to be on smooth pavement to even be sure that I have it. It shows up when accelerating, and when cruising at steady rpm, almost regardless of how many rpm's there are. Additional symptoms: 1. Low, rough idle, and periodic stalling on cold engine. 2. No vacume advance with p/s or a/c (I can see that the p/s boost wire is disconnected, no idea why a/c does not boost idle) Work done: New motor, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, injector o-rings, vacume hose, set timing, clean and readjust idle switch Diagnoses done: Bypassed Idle stabilizer, no effect, disconnected oxy sensor, no effect. This leaves: Replace Hall generator (I have part), temp sensor? Oxy sensor? Fuel pump? Injectors? More Vacume leaks? AFM? Where do I go next? Obviously I would like to rule out easy stuff first. I have looked through the archives as best I can (thanks Tom!), but I can no find a good work order here. Thanks, Peter & Zippy |
