Subject: Clutch Got Soft

HEy All, All of a sudden today, the clutch pedal in my 83.5 water cooled Vanagon became "soft". It felt like there was less resistance and shifting became hard. WHAT'S UP?? Is this a hydraulic clutch or does it adjust like the older air-cooled buses with a turn of the wing nut at the end of the clutch cable. Please Help, I have to drive my 3 year old to daycare tomorrow!
