Ah... Boston... I lived there for 4 years and down in new Bedford for 5 more...

Places to eat... 1: The Marshall House - Union Street near Fanuil Hall.. Good seafood, good beer. 1A: The Union Oyster House... on Marshall Street! Around the corner from Marshalls. If you liek raw seafood, here is the place. 2: Durgin Park - In Fanuil Hall... Great food, good place to be abused by the waitresses, really, it's part of the charm. Use to sit at long tables where you wouldn't know the person sitting next to you. A lot of fun. 3: Because I like you, I'll tell you about this place... The 'Noname fish House'... on the fish pier in Boston, just ask any cabby to take you there. Awsome food, pretty low key. Use to have a diner type atmosphere but they went upscale. Great broiled seafood and very reasonable. Very local. 4: There is (was?) a good quality brewpub in the north end of Boston (Near Boston Garden). I suspect it's still there. I am also sure there are more than when I was last there. 5: Bertucci's Pizza - many places, I recommend the one at Woburn exit off 128 near the 93 interchange(across from Woburn Mall). Or the original site at Davis Square in Somerville (they have a bocci ball pit). Try the Sporkie if you like that sort of thing. 6: Plough and Star Pub.. Central Square Cambridge. Great Irish Bar. 7: The Black Rose... Near Fanuil Hall. Good food, good Irish Beer, real Irish folk hang there. 8: There is a good pub house in Harvard square. On Dunster Street. It use to be called 99 Dunster or something like that. Downstairs from the big Starbucks Coffee Shop in Harvard Square. Great beer, good food. 9: Somerville is filled with good Jazz clubs. Union Square I believe. 10: Harvard Square is a great place for travelers in the evening. Good coffee, ice cream, magazine/book stores, music for free, a couple of coffee houses still open, etc. Check it out.

11: Remember, anyone can send you to Legal Seafood... the real gems are hiding though.
