Subject: Does anyone know G50 tranmissions well?

My G50 appears to have a limited-slip (LSD) diff, and cast into the case is "8.89", which I assume is month.year of manufacture.

I am aware that for 1989 only there was a turbo G50-equipped 911 with 80% LSD (the "ordinary" G50 LSD is 40%), and I'm wondering which it is, and whether there is any way to determine the gearbox/diff ratios from external details.

Stamped into the case bottom are the numbers K01958 and 25050 2 (there may be a 1 or 11 in the gap in the latter, but I can't tell due to abrasion).

Cast into the RHS of the gear case is 950.301.102, followed by a circle containing 3R. Cast into the RHS of the integral bellhousing is 350.301.101 8R. Nowhere does it say Porsche, but that's because it isn't made by Porsche but by Getrag; it is easily recognizable as a G50.

I paid $1165US for it. In US wreckers a plain short G50 sells for $1800-1950; a 40% LSD G50 goes for $2750; a turbo G50 for $3750. And free 930 CVs can't be beat.
