Subject: Query: Any Good Vanagon Salvage Yards LA to Monterey?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

On Sunday I will fire up my trusty vehicle and head north to Monterey, CA for a Micro Total Analytical Systems Conference that runs Sunday evening to Thursday noon. Driving instead of flying because the time door-to-door should be a wash, and I wanted to burn-off any significant internal carbon deposits. I will promenade along either Interstate 5 or along US 101.

Since I will be traveling north on Sunday morning and afternoon, and south on Thursday afternoon, I was wondering if listees knew of any particularly good Vanagon -containing salvage yards along the way. I will probably miss my usual Saturday morning junkyard constitutional in preparation for the conference. I usually carry enough resources (tools) to strip interesting and unattended vehicles along the way!

I'm searching for some extra pieces including the Vanagon diesel flywheel, a couple of used or broken engine mounts and the two engine carrier bars for the '82 installation.

Thanks

Frank Grunthaner
