A similar thing happened to me, when a stupid woman failed to give way to me and turned across my path. I centerpunched her left door... if there had been a passenger there he'd have been dead. Her 4WD Mazda Familia (=323) was totalled, being spun across a traffic island. My diesel Nissan Skyline looked messy but it was entirely bolt-on parts bent, and I drove the 290km home. It pays to have a solid car, and like the Skyline, the VW T3 is strong.
