Entity Sue Dumond spoke thus:

> Is there a bracket that holds the reservoir up? I see nothing > hanging around the engine that broke or dropped down etc.... and no way > to hold the reservoir up. Thanks. > Sue Hey lady! I also have that year diesel Vanagon! There are 2 tanks, one is beside the battery and I believe is called the reservoir, the other is inside the license plate flap and I think that is the overflow tank. The reservoir is held up by these 2 metal tabs at an angle, they are formed of the metal of the battery box. Reinserting the tank is a toolless job.The plastic tank is molded to insert in there. Possibly you went over a bump and it jumped out of it's cradle, but I can't imagine. It wedges in there with some persistence. If the tabs are bent away it can also happen. Maybe you have a lot of rust. The overflow tank is held in by 2 bolts which are hard to get to and usually a dirty job. Rachel http://www.gnarlodious.com
