Subject: Re: VANAGON PARTS & Bry's & Campbell/Nelson
Last I heard, Bry's was still doing business, cash only, but I haven't been
able to verify this personally. I also hear he's still ignoring the phone. My
friend doesn't know if he's brought in any new cars recently, or if he's just
cleaning off the one's he already had. I'll try to stop by one of these days
to find out for sure, but this guy was there recently (couple weeks) and said
he's still kicking, so if you're in the area, might be worth a stop.
Campbell-Nelson: Yes, they can charge higher prices than some others. Most
every time I've bought from them, I've gone up to pick up the parts, been able
to check them over thoroughly, finagle price as appropriate, and been pretty
happy about it. If the price is too high, walk away. Nobody forced me to buy
that particular part at their price. On the whole, I haven't been disappointed
with them.
FLAPS: the flaps I have close to me are very vw ignorant. I'll get generic
supplies and dump my used oil there, but that's about it.
List vendors: they are the most familiar with the vehicles we dote on. They
drive these things themselves, know the problems, fix them, and are willing to
pass their knowledge on. I've been fortunate in that I haven't needed too many
new parts lately, but if I need them and they stock them, they will most
likely get the business.
was that worth 2cents? don't answer that...
