Dan, First thing first. What year and model do you have? I can't remember the exact cut-off. Chris Turner is the door swapper guy on this list. If he had a wife he'd probably swap her for a door. (smile, Chris) If he doesn't respond email him at JordanVW@aol.com. Not a lot of work has been done to swap in alternative seating. Probably because of the space limitations. You can just about swap in any seat of you take the frame from a Vanagon seat bottom and weld it to the seat of your choice. Many of the contemporary Japanese econoboxes use a 4-bolt mounting system which should be easy to adapt as well. The downside is they usually do not have armrests. The plus side is they all recline all the way. VW car seats are a PITA to adapt as they have a steel frame for the center guide. BMW seats also use a 4-bolt mounting system They come with the guides already attached just like the Japanese car seats. BenT |
