Toyota DOES make full-time 4WD diesel Hiaces; Super Custom variant gets rear torsionbars instead of cartsprings. Available in 3.0 EFI turbodiesel... as well as 2.4 TD and 2.4 nonturbo. Mitsubishi vans are OK if not diesel. Nissans seem unreliable and Mazdas... and the diesels of these companies are also bad.
