Dash back in: that's a different question. I started the whole job at around 9am, at 11 I'd discovered that the replacement wasn't quite the right one, so getting it changed caused 3hrs delay. Finished the job around 5pm. Don't forget you'll have to bleed the cooling system, either.... >Should I just take my Vanagon and my wallet to > > the nearest semi-competent VW shop? Naw.... don't do that! Once you've had the dash out, you'll feel much more intimately acquainted with you van - also, you'll know what to expect next time round, eg. when you realize that the cigarette lighter has become far too loose and it's getting on your nerves so much that you simply *have* to do something about it (i.e. stick it down on the inside with epoxy resin)! Bite the bullet, roll your sleeves up, get stuck in and good luck!!! Tim(H) '86 Caravelle - 7 seater |
