Don't recall on this one, but I thought I heard someone say yes recently.

My experience with Cofap (made in Brazil) is their oil shocks for my Jetta, and they were junk. After a year, they were worse than the stock shocks w/250k km that I replaced. I now have SPAX gas shocks and they are much better, although too soon to tell about lifespan.

I also put a Cofap upper balljoint on my '88 Westy, and the boot split within a year. In this case, I think it may have been made in Spain, but I'm not certain.

It's possible their rings are better quality, and perhaps they are even made in Germany, I don't know. I've heard someone say that Koblenschmidt rings are the only way to go, but this was in comparison with Grant rings.
