Coincidental with Joel's discovery...

I was helping out at my son's elementary school book fair and found a little volume called something like "Firefly Pocket Book of Cars". In it I discovered a photo of a maroon coloured Vanagon (labelled a Caravelle as the book was published in the UK).

The caption described it as a mobile studio, soundproofed and used by the BBC to do interviews etc.
