There is control circuitry that manages the oil pressure LED. I know, because mine is on the fritz, too. I checked to ensure that the circuit was seeing ground from the sensor, then replaced the LED. Still no luck. I've got the instrument cluster on my kitchen table right now, but it's difficult/impossible to trouble shoot the circuit, especially without a diagram! Maybe a Bentley has more info, but I suspect it's a custom integrated circuit that I'll have to replace.

Of course, Andrew Fox (of this list) suggested I throw out the LED in favor of a guage. I may do that.
