I have a "plain vanilla" Coleman catalytic heater. No blower, and you have to light it with a match, but it works well in the VW. I use it in the evening prior to turning in, then light it in the morning about 1/2 hour before getting up.

Did you ever figure out how to recycle those small propane bottles? One of the reasons I don't use the heater more is because I can't figure out how to get rid of those things. I hate to just see them wind up in a land fill somewhere.
