Subject: Camping with Coleman Black Cat
Content-Type: multipart/alternative;

Went up to Algonquin Park's Mew Lake Camp Ground over the past week end. It was cold with white stiff on the ground Saturday morning. Went through two bottles of propane on the Coleman Black Cat with top part way down, stuff stashed on top bunk would not let the top all the way down ! It was toasty but having to wake up and change the propane a couple of times was a PITA. Got a small electric heater for Saturday nite as we were in an electrified site. That went better ! There were two of us with Westys my bud Simon with his '81 and me with my '87. Algonquin is awesome. First time I have been there. Been wanting to go for some time but never had the chance. I will certainly go back for longer camping. Lots of trails for hiking and biking and canoeing galore. Spring time looks good for the trout fishing so maybe I'll do that. We went in at the East Gate from Renfrew way, taking Hyway 60 across the park to Mew Lake. Check it out, it's a great place for camping with ypur Westy. Mew Lake is small but sports a full pine forest with tons of pine needles for the floor. We had black ducks in the camp ground all week end. I kept trying to entice them into our camp fire for a little barbecue. Hmmmmm, they retreated ! Oh, well, next time. We did just fine with barbecued chicken and noodles with garlic sauce !

Peace
