I replaced the screw and the plastic adjustor with a product called
Thread-Serts from JcWhitney. It required filling in the large hole holding
the plastic and then drill a smaller hole and inserting something like a
threaded pop rivet. Then get a long screw and you're back in business. No
more plastic....
