I believe the 2-ply is the side-wall, with 4 plies in the tread. I will double-check mine when I get home. Now they are a special-order item here in Wilmington, DE, with a "special-order" price of nearly double the $50 I paid a year ago. I wish I had bought a fifth at the time.
