Has anyone ever welded or brazed all (or some) the angles and "T"s out of steel/copper/stainless, leaving mostly straight hose sections that could be sourced almost anywhere? ------------- reply --------------- I have done that on various vehicles for coolant and turbocharger outlet plumbing. I have a "rotary draw" tubing bender with mandrels for many sizes of tubing. I made up sections of tube with bends. You could also miter angle joints, but they would need to be TIG welded with care so as to avoid leaks, MIG does not work good enough. Maybe gas welding would work. I have used stainless when I had it around, but have also used mild steel "ERW" tube and found it to last several years without any signs of corrosion.
