In my ongoing quest to learn more about my (hopefully soon) nearly running '82 diesel, I tried to pull the plastic heater cover panel off of my van's dash area a few days ago. I was hoping to mount gauges in it. It is the big piece that runs from the radio down toward the floor, just in front of the stickshift. It was more brittle than the one I inspected at the junkyard, and it shattered into about 8 pieces. Needless to say, the one at the junkyard doesn't fit, and I bought it without the return policy. It is brown. The big catch is that my van has the floor vents that exit just behind and between the front seats, so my broken panel is not the same as the one from the junkyard. Apparently there are at least two different kinds of these panels, each fitting vans with/without the passenger area floor vents. Anyone out there have a brown or black one they can sell me for cheap? Thanks in advance for any leads...
