Someone correct meeze if I am wrong, but the Air Cooled TDC sensor mounted in the engine flange behind the flywheel is for diagnostic porpoises only. My 83 had one, not connected, and I was told it was only for the techs to know when TDC occured during tuneups using one of VW's expensive diagnostic tools. My 81 never had one. tim obrien
>Upon breaking down my '81' engine on my newly purchased van, I discovered >the TDC sensor to be not connected. Why? Did some leave it not connected >accidently. Was it left that way when the aftermarket A/C was installed. >Maybe when the aftermarket cruise control was installed. ANY SOLUTIONS?
