Any suggestions for removing the steering wheel will be appreciated.


I have a "steering wheel puller" stashed at mom's which I could have sent to
me, but I don't think it will help on the Vanagon as it has no grabbing
hooks--just bolts one would screw into exiting threaded holes under the horn
button. I don't believe the Vanagon wheel has these.


I'm looking to install my new South African leather steering wheel from James
Cohen. A real beauty she is. (jscohen@sprynet.com) I'll keep you posted.


Also something isn't quite right in my steering column. I can feel a slight
resistence and/or a slip like there's a shot or dry bearing in there--or
maybe it's the coupling or universal in the column. Any experience on
diagnostics here will be appreciated as well as at this point the problem is
not obvious.
