Way to go, Myron! I say again, members of this list most wonderful, generous folks in the world. Even if you had no interest in vanagons, it would be worth buying one just to be able to meet some of these people!

For those of you who may attempt to repeat Maynard's feat of driving without a clutch, I learned that when the engine is cold, it may be worthwhile to start it in neutral and allow it to warm up a bit before attempting to start it while in gear. Also helps if you park on a hill.
