Well, Betsy's purring like a kitten again :-)

I drained out about 2 quarts of oil and replaced it with Marvel. Let her run for about 25 minutes with the back of the van tilted towards the ticking side, and voila! No more tick. Drained the oil and replaced with Redline 10w30 and a new Mahle filter.

While I was at it, I replaced all the rubber fuel lines (left the plastic ones, which look fine) including the lines going to the gas tank breather boxes. The lines above the tank look good, but I'll be replacing them as soon as I have some more time. The breather lines were terrible! Two were cracked all the way through!

I did trace the squeak to the alternator, which I'm going to replace this week before the trip, and more importantly, before it dies ;-) . . .

Thanks again everyone for your help! I guess I shouldn't have let it worry me so.

In the words of the great Charlie Papazian, "Relax, don't worry, have a homebrew."

G'night everyone!
