I forgot to add that I ran my 3P12 platcat off of those small 1 pound propane bottles for over a year. 1 bottle lasted 8 hours of continuous heating. Dangers: bottle tipping over and feeding the heater liquid propane through the hose; or the bottle getting too hot and thus too much pressure and thus vents propane into passenger compartment....or the valve is defective and fails does the same thing. Bottles used inside should only be used as a temp solution. It is dangerous.

I now run the heater off of the westy system. I use an illegal high pressure retractable gas hose tapped in under the sink. That line has a separate petcock to turn gas to it off when not in use. Yes, this is safer than running off of portable tanks inside the van, but not as safe as copper gas feed directly to the heater.
