Subject: ever heard of a turbo aircooled type 4 engined vanagon?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Until today, I didn't. I must have missed that article in the December 1980 issue of "VW & Porsche" Magazine.

This was not a turbo Porsche 6-cyl which I knew about. It's Vanagon 2 liter aircooled motor done by none other than Callaway Turbosystems. Supposedly put out something like 105 hp. Kit price was $1985.

Since Callaway sold their inline-4 turbo systems technology to New Dimensions in Santa Clara, I wonder what they did with the aircooled Vanagon stuff?

In case you didn't know, Callaway has since moved on to Corvettes and racing in Lemanns (sp?).
