Howdy. A while back someone suggested nicking a slit in the Vanagon rasdiator bleed screw. I recently ground a narrow, short kerf with my Dremel and a miniature cutoff wheel. This allows a pathway to bleed air and bubbles from the coolant without completely removing the screw. I left enough of the capscrew thread intact to form a good seal when snugged down. Now if I could braze on a knurled thumbwheel.... Not as elegant as the KEP bleed valve/recovery system, but certainly cost-effective.
