<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV> <P>Brian: I don't know what you will be using the rack for so this may not apply for your needs. I have an older Yakima rack which grasps rain gutters. I bought it used as they don't make them any more. Most rack-specific shops carry these parts. Their employees seem to attract a supply of them so they have boxes of used rack parts, sometimes locks included. Inexpensive! I "clipped" the rack to my rear door ('91 Westy) and use it to haul bikes....usually one at a time in my case, sometimes my road and mt. bike. That puts 45 lbs. on the door which is closed most of the time. I can still access the back of the camper through the door if needed. </P> <P>The clipping devices on the Yakima "feet" needed to be cut down by about 3/4 inch and the cupped end re-cupped by pounding. You can also get Yakima racks that bold onto the roof and any dealer can advise what type will work. I have seen that application used by kayakers often, and some campers using the 6' long closable container/module type unit which is used to store food, clothing, etc. in. Hope this helps.<BR><BR>Bob Stevens </P></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>'91 Westy</DIV></div><br clear=all><hr>Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at <a href='http://go.msn.com/bql/hmtag_itl_EN.asp'>http://explorer.msn.com</a><br></html> |
