I am a new member of the Vanagon List. I have the chance of buying an 82 Vanagon diesel GL in excellent condition but it is not a Westy. I also have an 84 Westy that needs a lot of body work. Is it practical to convert the 82 Vanagon by moving all of the 84 Westy parts to the 82? I am most concerned about the poptop as that appears to be a bigger job. I have read the 3 part "poptop project" that Karl posted but still have concerns about the refitting. I sent Karl Boss an e-mail but it was returned to me so have not been able to contact him. Any comment/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom Shiels 84 Westy 1.9L, Maybe 82 diesel GL 79 Westy rebuilt and sold in Saskatchewan Burlington Ontario |
