Shockwatch have come a long way since I dealt with them in the '80s -- they now have detectors for shock, tilt, altitude, heat, warmth, cold, humidity -- check 'em out.

Their original product, Shockwatch, is extremely clever -- a flat paper label with a small white glass tube embedded in the middle. When accelerated over the setpoint (they had two levels back then, five now) a drop of red dye would spread through the tube turning it permanently red.

We had graphic evidence of how pleasing this was to shipping companies -- a number of boxes came through with the tube smashed by slashing through it with a ball-point pen. Of course this was presumptive evidence that the label had tripped, and the label *inside* the box would tell its own tale.
