Max when I stopped in a Bergs last June a day before the Berg Rally Clyde Berg had Just bought his Dads vanagon from his Mom. The van had been in storage since Gene's death and was in the middle of getting lettered so I have not gotten look at the engine or a test drive. I do know that Gene had built a custom engine that had a larger displacement he had made his own crank and pistons the injection as not stock but I dont know what was used. Clyde told me that the engine was dyno tested and tuned before it went into the van it made 135 Hp. I dont have any more info on that engine but I will dig into it and find out what else was done next time I speak with Clyde. Have you tried more timing on your engine. what is the ignition system you are using with the Hal tech injection where is the timing set and what is the total advance. Was Clyde any help with the set up? If you have money to burn and want better breathing, try the Gene Berg Twin TWM throttle bodies along with a slightly larger capacity fuel injector set and the adjustable Bosch FPR they sell. The price tage forthe TWM's the modified manifolds, linkage et al looks to be about $1700. Not sure if Bob has seen this in practice on the 2.1 when he's been out in Bergland, but they assure me there are no clearance problems with Air cleaners etc.

Now all I need is the cash.
