Gee, imagine the cheek of us continuing the discussion after those
statements!

Would be better if you used the term GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) when you
are talking about "fibreglass".

The term "high density fiberglass" would be appropriate if you were talking
about insulating your attic with the pink stuff.

The glass fibres in the resin system are indeed non-flammable but the
plastic itself, whether it be a resin system such as polyester, polyvinyl,
one of a gazillion epoxy formulations, or whether its a "plain old plastic"
such as PVC or ABS will indeed burn.

Well maybe VW did mix in a some fire retardant when they were molding the
engine lids, I bet you they didn't.
